Aki tachinu / Autumn Has Already Started. 1960.
Single mum (father of child dead) from the country with 6th grade boy comes to Tokyo, leaves the boy to live with his uncle's family - wife, male, female teens, run a struggling greengrocer - and lives/ works in local inn. He gets bullied/ fights with local boys, goes to the baths, plays basketball, is befriended by his male cousin and becomes friendly with grade 4 girl who's the daughter of the innkeeper, who employs his mum and is the longterm mistress of a businessman from another town, who's the girl's father and who brings her half sister and brother to meet her but they're mean to her. Meanwhile the boy's mother gets friendly with one of the inn's clients and chucks her job for a trip or something more permanent with him. The young girl takes him shopping, and wants the boy to live with her and her mother, but mother and father refuse so the two kids go to a seaside where he sprains his ankle and they're late back even though the police get them and they're in trouble. The boy loses his beetle and tries to get another for the girl for a school project but when he does, she's moved house with her mother at the urging of her father. Clear? It's better in the film.

The eleven year old cycling talent Freddy is the son of a butcher in an idyllic village in no man's land. His isolated life is turned upside down completely in 1975 when the first supermarket in the village opens its doors. To mark the opening the supermarket organizes a cycling race and the winner of that match will meet Eddy Merckx. Freddy's father is a fervent opponent of the supermarket and the competition, but Freddy subscribes behind his back. By participating in the race a new world opens, not only for Freddy, but also for all those around him.

Der Sport ist für Peter Papenbold (Gojko Mitic) eine große Leidenschaft. Seine Frau Gitte (Renate Blume) hat manchmal den Eindruck, dass er nicht mit ihr, sondern mit seiner Aufgabe als Übungsleiter verheiratet ist. Doch letztlich bringt sie immer wieder Verständnis dafür auf, wenn er fast seine ganze Freizeit den Nachwuchstalenten widmet. Ja, sie ist in gewisser Weise sogar stolz auf ihn, mit welcher Liebe und Einsatzbereitschaft er sich dieser ehrenamtlichen Aufgabe widmet. Sogar unter den Kindern im Kindergarten sucht Peter nach Talenten, die vielleicht später einmal zu den Olympischen Spielen fahren könnten. Der DEFA-»Chefindianer« Gojko Mitic war in dieser TV-Produktion einmal in einem ganz anderen Outfit zu sehen: im Trainingsanzug. Für diese Rolle als Übungsleiter einer Turnerriege konnte er auf seine Erfahrungen als Student an der Belgrader Sporthochschule zurückgreifen.

DE. Verbotene Liebe ist ein DEFA-Spielfilm des Regisseurs Helmut Dziuba aus dem Jahr 1989.
Der 18-jährige Georg liebt die 13-jährige Nachbarstochter Barbara (Julia Brendler). Als sich herausstellt, dass beide miteinander geschlafen haben, zeigt Barbaras Vater ("Tatort"-Ermittler Peter Sodann) den Jungen an - aber hauptsäch­lich, um dessen verhasstem Vater eins auszuwischen. Als Georg vor Gericht gestellt werden soll, bieten seine Mitschüler der Staatsmacht die Stirn… Das Drehbuch nach einer in der DDR lange verbotenen Erzählung lag drei Jahre lang auf Eis, erst am Vorabend der Wende konnte sich Helmut Dziuba an die Verfilmung machen - die leider etwas hölzern ausfiel.

On 10 November, 1979 - 10 years before the collapse of Communism in Europe, Boryana is determined not to give birth to a child in Communist Bulgaria. The only thing Boryana longs for is to escape to the West. But despite her attempt to protect herself from unwanted pregnancy, her baby survives... Unwanted, Viktoria is born with no umbilical cord to connect her to her mother and thus proclaimed "the baby of the decade". Viktoria becomes a symbol of Communist Bulgaria. While growing up, she dominates her environment and is at subconscious war with her mother - the one who didn't want her. But on 10 November, 1989, when the political situation collapses, turning Viktoria's life upside down, the hardships of the new time bind her and her mother together.

Jojo wil zijn moeder op haar naderende verjaardag verrassen met de vogel. Jojo’s vader wil absoluut niet de verjaardag vieren van iemand die afwezig is. Omdat de vader van Jojo driftbuien heeft, moet Jojo erg oppassen. Door de speciale vriendschap met de kauw en het aanpassingsvermogen dat alleen kinderen hebben, weet Jojo de muur rond het hart van zijn vader te breken.

Heroes Like Us presents as heroes ordinary teenagers and young East German adults, who in Thomas Brussig's (the novel and screenplay author) story, caused the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Our young hero falls in love, from an early age, with a girl whose family is not in good standing with the ruling Communist party. Our hero's father, however, is a member of the "Stasi", the secret state police. The father not only hinders his son's relationship with the girl, but he arranges for his son, after finishing school, to become a Stasi spy himself. The absurdities of everyday life in the former German "Democratic" Republic are comically (sometimes tragically) are exposed throughout the film.
