Az Én és a nagyapám Gertler Viktor rendezte, 1954-ben készült színes, magyar ifjúsági filmszatíra. A film jeleneteit Dunaújvárosban (akkor még: Sztálinváros), Almásfüzitőn, illetve a budapesti Széchenyi-hegyi Gyermekvasút (akkor még: Budapesti Úttörővasút) Szépjuhászné (akkor még: Ságváriliget) állomásán forgatták.
A szocializmus idején játszódó történet helyszíne egy új szocialista város, ahová mindenki vándormadárként érkezik, köztük Tóth Berci a részeges nagyapjával együtt, illetve a Daru család, akik faluról jöttek. Berci azért válik különccé az iskolában, mert mindenkinél ügyesebb és leleményesebb, Daru Kati meg a libája miatt. A két gyerek között barátság szövődik, és lassan az iskolába is beilleszkednek, hogy aztán mindketten úttörők lehessenek.

A line from Whitman, "There was a child went forth every day," starts this film: a visit to a farm that's a summer camp and progressive school for exploration and discovery. The children, as young as two or three, have room and time to question, wonder, and learn. We build a wading pool, use tools, climb and swing, bath a dog - and learn to live together. There are spats, and little adult interference. A tree house sparks children's imagination. They visit a neighboring farm, play with the animals and ride on a tractor that's plowing. They eat and nap. There's story time, easels for art, and a lollipop. It's the perfect place for city children to be safe from bombardment, says the narrator.

Fire-Eater (Finnish: Tulennielijä) is a 1998 Finnish film directed and written by Pirjo Honkasalo. It tells a story of two orphaned sisters who end up working in a travelling circus. The twin sisters Helena and Irene are born in Helsinki during World War II. A few months later their mother, Sirkka, leaves the girls in the care of their grandmother, an old communist, and runs away with a German soldier. Their life under the protection of their grandmother and the teachings of communism ends first with the death of Stalin, then with that of their grandmother. The girls are eight years old when they are put in an orphanage. Their mother shows up at the orphanage in the company of Ramon, a Spanish trapeze artist. They are on a talent search for a German circus. Ramon trains the reluctant Irene during circus tours in Central Europe. She becomes the trapeze star of the circus. The hard work soon exhausts Irene and she falls from height, as if on purpose. Helena has secretly learned the art of fire-eating. Now she is burdened with both her mother and her sister. The violent life...
